I saw Ryan's teacher in the lobby yesterday on my way in to pick him up. She laughed and said, "You'll never believe what happened today. At recess he was playing a game. A kicking game. When he kicked, his shoe was loose and landed on the roof of the school."
Really? He kicked his shoe onto the roof of the school? Wow!
I'm not surprised though since his shoes are always always always untied. That would drive me crazy but he doesn't even seem to notice. Of course this is the same kid that walks around with only one sock on because the other one fell off somewhere (usually the near the couch) so I guess it's just par for the course.
Miss B said that Ryan was laughing about the shoe incident. Which is good. Knowing how to laugh at yourself is an essential life skill to have so I am glad to see it alive in him.
Because if we weren't laughing, we would be crying. (And maybe even barefoot...)

Here's a Mother Goose rhyme that I always think of whenever I see him sock-less...
Diddle Diddle Dumpling
Diddle diddle dumpling my son John.
He went to bed with his socks on.
One shoe off and one shoe on.
Diddle diddle dumpling my son John!

Lolol! That's cute. I hope that the janitor went up onto the roof and got it for him, and you didn't have to go and buy new shoes!
